Chances at Love
This maze painting references the enchanted rose from Beauty and the Beast. In the story, a handsome pampered prince has transformed into a hideous Beast as punishment for his vain, cold-hearted, and selfish ways. In order to return to his former self, the Beast must learn to love another and earn her love in return by the time the last petal falls. if he does not, he would be doomed to remain the Beast for all time.
The rose symbolizes love, but this one is dying – just like the Beast’s hope for true love. Each petal that falls makes his chances for true love less likely. The enchanted rose acts as the ticking clock on his chances at love. As time passes, more petals fall from our metaphorical rose and we feel our chances for true love start to dwindle. Timing plays a tremendous part in finding true love, we hope to find it before our last petal falls.
