Kick, push, coast was made famous by Lupe Fiasco’s song “Kick, Push” - a homage to the skater community. It is a song about skating but it’s also a metaphor about his struggle to find where he belongs in the world and how he tries to find acceptance and understanding. The song describes how he finds a friend through skating, then more friends, and together they continue doing what they love even though it’s not accepted by everyone else around them. Kick; start and begin. Push; grind and hustle. Coast; live and enjoy.
